Katy has a diverse legal background, having worked in different areas of the industry for over a decade. She enjoys meeting new clients, learning about dynamic companies, and helping find solutions to corporate legal needs.
Katy began her legal career as a paralegal for the intellectual property litigation group of an international law firm in San Francisco. Upon graduating law school, she worked as an associate in Silicon Valley, where she focused her practice on private equity mergers and acquisitions and debt finance. After relocating back to the Sacramento area in 2015, Katy began work at the California Secretary of State. As an attorney for the department's Business Programs Division, she was responsible for reviewing the most complex business filings and communicating with customers about California corporate law. Since leaving the SoS, Katy has led deals in multiple industries and forms, including mergers, private equity investments, and early-stage technology financings for clients across the country.
